| Alzheimer’s: Readings, Workshops and Lectures After I wrote The Last Childhood, I designed several lectures and workshops for family members as well as for professional caregivers to help them best support and care for the Alzheimer’s victim. These lectures cover a variety of topics including: the development and progression of Alzheimer’s, the warning signs, the legal implications, the impact of home care on the family, the need for outside support, the financial burden of Alzheimer’s, new drugs and treatments, the need for a special “clean, well lighted” environment for Alzheimer’s victims, the importance of caring for yourself so you can better take care of the ones you love, and the long process of grieving the loss of your loved one and your shared memories. If you would like me to speak to either your support group or your employees, you can contact me at: 919.821.3478, cjknowles@earthlink.net Fees for readings and lectures are negotiable and include travel expenses.
